Banking During COVID-19

Authored By: Financial Access FCU on 4/14/2020

Banking during COVID-19

COVID-19 is changing the way the world operates. At least for the time being. While some changes, such as social distancing, may continue longer, other changes are, hopefully, far more temporary.

For now, the way you handle your banking will change to some degree. As a credit union, we follow the principle of “people helping people,” and we have always been committed to our members. That includes your personal safety as you manage your money during this current crisis. While every financial institution will have its own way of dealing with member safety during this outbreak, some factors are quite universal.

These are unprecedented times, and we are working to keep you, our members, as well as our staff, healthy and safe while ensuring you have easy access to your accounts. Fortunately, financial institutions are forward-thinking when it comes to technology. This preparation allows us to operate in even the most trying of times while enabling members to access their accounts and funds with ease.

Payments & Deposits

The good news for our members is that payments and deposits will continue as normal. There will be no disruptions to the following:

  • Check payments
  • Online payments
  • ACH transactions
  • Direct deposits

Whether you’re making payments or depositing checks, these processes will continue as usual.

Online & Mobile Banking

Our online and mobile banking platforms are the easiest means to access your account. Upon logging in, you can accomplish any number of banking functions, including:

  • Reviewing account balances
  • Transferring money
  • Paying loans
  • Depositing checks
  • And much more

Most routine banking tasks can be completed online from your home computer or mobile phone. Our free mobile app is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

ATM, Debit & Credit Cards

Automated teller machines, or ATMs, are one of the most convenient banking tools in the modern world. You can use them to quickly and easily obtain cash from locations nationwide.

Our ATM networks will continue to operate as normal as will your debit and credit card transactions. There will be no disruptions to these key processes as we all seek to get through this outbreak together.

As a friendly reminder, please be sure to use hand sanitizer or wash your hands for a full 20 seconds as soon as possible after touching ATMs and before touching your face.

NCUA Insurance

While there is much uncertainty in the world right now, we would like to take this opportunity to remind our members that your money is safe with the credit union. Each member’s savings are federally insured through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), up to at least $250,000 and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government.

Financial Access Federal Credit Union is Here to Help!

As always, our commitment is to the communities we serve. Our staff is also part of the community, and we are all in this together as we seek to keep your money accessible and our community safe during the COVID-19 outbreak and beyond.

The credit union will continue to monitor and follow guidelines established and recommended by the CDC, in addition to those set forth by state and local public health officials. We will address needs as they change and are here to serve you through these trying times.

If you have questions or concerns about your accounts, please call us at 941-748-7704. We wish our members, their families, and the entire world to stay safe and healthy during this pandemic.
